The LIBRE Initiative hosted a policy luncheon at La Fogata Restaurant onMay 14. The luncheon marked the first official event hosted by LIBRE in itsSouth Texas headquarters, and featured LIBRE’s Executive Director Daniel Garzaand Texas State Representative Aaron Peña. There was an impressive turnout,which included business and faith leaders, along with young professionals. The discussion, initiated by Daniel Garza, focused oninforming and mobilizing the Hispanic community around principles of economicfreedom - comprised of free enterprise, personal responsibility, and limitedgovernment – which when put into practice, generates prosperity. StateRepresentative Peña emphasized the importance of free trade, using the NorthAmerican Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) as an example, and the positive impact ithas on businesses across Texas and the country.
