The LIBRE Initiative participated in the largesttwo-day Cinco de Mayo celebration in the United States. The Cinco de Mayo“Celebrate Culture” Festival takes place each year in Denver, Colorado attractingmore than 400,000 people to commemorate the vibrant Mexican culture.
During the festival, the LIBRE team had theopportunity to interact with numerous attendees. While many were excited to becelebrating Cinco de Mayo, they expressed unease with the state of the economy.Some shared that their unease arises from the expansion of governmentinterference, the increase of college tuition for their children, the rise in gasprices and how it all affects their everyday lives.
Three lucky winners, who entered the LIBRE raffle,received a $100 gas card and two sets of Colorado Rockies tickets. MichaelBarrera, LIBRE’s Western Regional Director, was excited to witness the local Hispaniccommunity responding positively and agreeing with LIBRE’s message. He looksforward to participating in the event next year.
